Behind the piece

Form, meaning
and making.

A closer look at the visual language, cultural context and care of this piece.

The piece

Bring a piece of Himachal into your home with this framed white metal Narsingha. Its sweeping S-shaped form, textured surface and fine chain stand out against the deep red backing. A woven patti and gold-toned frame surround the piece with colour and detail. Display it on its own or gift it to someone who feels a connection to the hills.

Cultural context

The Narsingha is a traditional curved horn associated with Himachali deity processions and celebrations. This handcrafted decorative piece brings its familiar shape into your home as a reminder of the culture of the hills.

Craftsmanship

The white metal Narsingha is arranged and framed by hand. Raised surface details, collar rings and a delicate chain give the instrument its character, while the woven patti and layered gold-toned mouldings complete the display.

Care

Display indoors, away from direct sunlight, moisture and heat. Dust the frame gently with a clean, dry microfibre cloth. For the glazed front, apply a little suitable glass cleaner to the cloth, never directly to the frame. Do not use metal polish, abrasive cleaners or water on the instrument or woven patti.

Product note
