The piece
This framed composition centres a raised Dev Mukh within a sequence of gold-toned inner frames. A deep red field gives the form visual depth, while the surrounding woven border introduces a rhythmic geometric pattern in red and dark accents. The ornamented outer frame completes a layered presentation designed to hold attention from across a room as well as at close range.
Cultural context
Across Himachal, the divine presence is often expressed through a mukh, or sacred face. This framed interpretation places that powerful form at the centre, surrounded by colour and pattern that recall the visual warmth of homes and temples in the hills.
Craftsmanship
A raised gold-toned Dev Mukh sits within a deep shadow-box composition. Layered mouldings, rich red backing and a woven geometric border create depth, rhythm and a strong ceremonial character beneath the glazed front.
Care
Display indoors, away from direct sunlight, persistent humidity and heat. Dust the outer frame or cover gently with a clean, dry microfibre cloth. If the glazed surface needs cleaning, apply a small amount of suitable cleaner to the cloth rather than spraying the piece. Do not use metal polish, abrasives or moisture on the central object or textile without confirmed maker guidance.
